Who we are
Citizens Advice Hounslow is the operational name of Hounslow Citizens Advice Bureaux Service (HCABxS). We are a registered charity as well as a company limited by guarantee. We are governed by our ‘Memorandum and Articles of Association’ and run by our Trustee Board, which maintains and develops our services locally to meet the needs of the local community. We are also a member of our parent organisation, Citizens Advice.
We are made up of two main offices – the Feltham Office in ‘The Centre’, High Street, Feltham and the Brentford & Chiswick Office in the Chiswick Town Hall.
We also do outreach work at various locations throughout the borough. We currently have six paid core workers, four project workers and about sixty volunteers, not including the Trustee Board, which has eleven trustees with a variety of backgrounds.
We are managed by a Chief Executive Officer and a Service Manager, who, together, oversee all our offices and services. Each office has a Local Delivery Manager, Supervisors and Advisers. In addition, we have one part-time Administrator.
If you want to know more, please read our latest Annual Report, which gives a very good breakdown of the areas of work covered by each of the bureaux individually and a good picture of our service as a whole.
We hold the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) quality mark, a sign of excellence for organisations that provide advice to the public on social welfare issues.
